With the use of ESI-MSMS-TOF, we were able to fragment six compounds under negative ion mode. Positive ion mode was not appropriate for the MS/MS studies because sodiated adduct ions were formed and no product ions were observed in the MS/MS spectra. The procedure was based on Tandem mass spectrometry. The solvent used in this process is Methanol, we dissolved the samples in 1mg/ml and diluted and diluted 100-fold to get 0.01/ml concentration, the sample dissolved in methanol is then introduced into ESI source using a syringe that has a flow rate of 4L/min. we used nitrogen gas as drying gas and the temperature inside the ESI was kept at 200oC. Nitrogen was applied as nebulizer gas at 0.4 bars pressure The software used for the procedure was Data Analysis 3.4 software from Bruker Industries where the peaks were studied individually and fragments of the precursor ion was identified. Following the identification of the compounds and their fragments under negative ion mode, both compounds had five fragments, Both compounds were deprotonated and proceeded to lose HCl to form first fragment and more fragments afterwards The Survival yield curve was plotted for one of the compounds and the Characteristic survival yield was calculated to be 11.65 eVhu_HU
