The aim of this study is to prove that despite having laws against injustice towards African Americans in the United States, the same problems of discrimination and segregation have arisen over and over again. It is very important to clear the difference between three important concepts that have characterized race relations in the United States: prejudice, discrimination and segregation. [...] My primary aim is to show how life differs if one is born with a black skin. I will present their situation from the beginnings of slavery until the first years of the twenty-first century.
