| dc.description.abstract | Worldwide, exists a system of providing health-care services which is paying attention to the patient-focused way of care, having to include a team that is interprofessional to deliver health care services to persons receiving medical treatment in a better way. This study is aimed at assessing the attitudes, readiness, barriers and facilitators of interprofessional team work among health professional students within selected faculties in the university of Debrecen. The study also sought to assess whether professional satisfaction would have an influence on the attitudes of health professional students at the University of Debrecen towards interprofessional team work. The framework of concepts used in the study was that of factors that affect team work by either promoting or hindering, and these include processual factors, relational factors, contextual factors, organizational factors and individual factors. The study is a mixed-method research design, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. Particularly, an explanatory mixed method research design was used, through phenomenological approach. The target population was 5,464 health professional students. Availability sampling and Snowball sampling, purposive sampling technique were used in the study. The study utilized a sample size of 359. Questionnaire was developed from standardized questionnaires and used for the study. The tool was validated and its reliability was 92.8%. Data collection was made through google link and shared through social media and SKYPE was used for the interviews. Response rate was 65.2%. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 26 for quantitative analysis and hyperRESEARCH 4.5.0 for qualitative analysis. The study found that there was positive attitude (mean = 4.1±0.80), towards interprofessional team work and there was adequate readiness with a mean score of 3.96±0.79 for interprofessional team work among health professional students in the University of Debrecen. The study also found that the topmost barriers to interprofessional team work were relational barriers (64%) while the two topmost facilitators of interprofessional team work were relational facilitators (48%) and organizational facilitators (37%). The study concluded that there was positive attitude and generally an adequate readiness towards interprofessional team work among health professional students in the University of Debrecen. | hu_HU |
