Every infant born before gestational week 37, defined as preterm infant. The incidence of preterm delivery over the world increase with time, up to 11% in 2010. this review summarize the updated data about the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical picture and treatment of infant with respiratory distress syndrome.
