dc.description.abstractHypertension is one of the most important leading causes of death worldwide and its prevalence is increasing. The aim of this study is to address what factors are the main reasons for developing hypertension among Uyghur ethnic groups. A cross-sectional study was performed. The response rate was 91.74%. The prevalence of hypertension among total study group was 40%. The prevalence of hypertension among Uyghurs was high. Age, family history, obesity, regular blood pressure checkup, atherosclerosis, and diabetes were associated with hypertension. Public health interventions are needed in order to increase awareness, management, as well as prevention of hypertension and related diseases.hu_HU
