dc.description.abstractThis work aims to make an analysis of the gender equality policy of the European Union, especially in the context of labor law. The focus will be on salary and employment gap between men and women and how this affects the world economy. The goal is to demonstrate how the defense of gender equality is an essential aspect of the principle of equality, which is the basis of any democratic society. This paper also has the intention of presenting data that showcases the current situation of the gender gap in Europe and to set out what could be done in order to promote the continuous development of this policy. So, this research aims to conceptualize and explain gender equality; demonstrate the importance gender equality within the European Union; analyze the trend of European national policies regarding gender equality; research the current differential treatment of women in the labor market and, finally, attempt to establish possible solutions to promote the development of gender equality.hu_HU
