This thesis conducts a comprehensive literature review using the PRISMA methodology to examine advancements in tactile sensors from 2018 to 2023. Thirty studies were selected, highlighting the essential role of tactile sensors in mimicking human skin. A novel piezoelectric stretchy tactile sensor array is introduced, with potential applications in electronic skins, health monitoring, and robotics. The sensor array features outstanding linearity, minimal errors, and high sensitivity. It also demonstrates rapid response times and long-term endurance, capable of detecting multi-pixel stimuli, which enhances its versatility. The study's findings have significant implications for various applications in the field of tactile sensors. Future research will focus on optimizing materials, particularly composite compositions of PDMS insulators and carbon black electrodes, to enhance sensor performance, precision, and reliability.
