In my thesis, my aim is to examine the possible causes leading to the new vampire revival and new vampire mythology of The Twilight Saga film series, by determining the original vampire myth, comparing The Twilight Saga's cinematic language to the classical vampire movie genre. I am also going to elaborate the current phenomena in psychology and sociology, which probably support the vampire revival. I am trying to find the psychological hunger which is fed by the vampire romance. I am also going to mention the new trends in the female role which can be a cause of the overwhelming popularity of The Twilight Saga heroine, Bella Swan and the hero, Edward Cullen . Finally, I am going to analyze The Twilight Saga film series one by one, based on the knowledge I have gathered through the previous chapters and based on my own experiences and observations when I was watching the movies: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part 1.hu_HU
