The thesis discusses the increasing importance of imaging in orthodontics for a comprehensive understanding of a patient's oral and facial structure. Traditional two-dimensional imagery is limited in depicting tooth and bone structure fully, justifying the significance of three-dimensional imaging. Contemporary technologies like cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and three-dimensional facial scans provide more accurate and comprehensive images, aiding in diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up in orthodontic care. Three-dimensional imaging allows for early identification of issues, personalized treatment plans, and enhanced surgical precision.
