Iatrogenic root perforations are an error made by the dentist where there is an artificial communication created between the periodontium and the root canal system. Accidental root perforations can happen in around 2-12% of endodontically treated teeth. As a result of this perforation bacteria can cause infection either from the root canal or from the periodontium leading to inflammation of the surrounding tissues which would result in severe healing impairment.hu_HU
