dc.description.abstractThe main reason the thesis was written was for readers to know and understand the effect that tocolytics and uterotonics have on the uterus. It starts with briely explaining the physiology and endocrinology of the uterus. It then lists certain indications that would require administering either of these medications in hospitals. Since postpartum heamorrhage and preterm labor are very common conditions, they are further explained in detail. In addition to the effect of these medications, the doses, route of administration, the side effects , and contraindications are mentioned as well.
