My thesis is an overview of the basics of treating chronic wounds. The treatments were also organized in the order of their cost effectiveness in this paper, except the parts about NPWT and HBO. I have touched the more modern techniques like use of growth factors, cellular skin replacements and induced pluripotent cells. There is also a brief explanation about what the horizon looks like in this field. I tried to highlight the classifications of dressing; Traditional and advanced with the properties of each explained. Negative pressure wound therapy seems to be yet the most available and cost-effective method in even less better off countries when it comes to chronic surgical-amputation and diabetic wounds; it requiring less advanced equipments and less sophisticated mechanism has made its use very easy.hu_HU
