This thesis talks about the development of the digital economy in Nigeria. In 2019, the Nigerian government launched a strategy to create a digital nation and outlined how this strategy would decrease poverty in the country. In this study, the author used the world bank diagnostic report to investigate how the digital economy has improved Nigeria's economy, using quantitative and qualitative approaches to show the evolution of digitalization in the country. The aim of this research is to explain the correlation in comparison to the digital economy and economic growth in Nigeria, which shows that the use of ICT has significantly impacted the GDP of Nigeria regardless of oil being the primary source of income in Nigeria. This research is critical to international economy and business because Nigeria has a large market that has the potential to reshape the global economy with rapid advancements in the digital world, providing insights that are of great benefit to the development of Nigeria's economy in the future.
