Thromboprophylaxis in urologic procedures is still not a conclusive field. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is associated with a wide range of risk factors, among them is surgery in general and urologic procedures in particular. This narrative review examines the existing literature in order to find out whether or not there is room for preventive methods for VTE
