This thesis explores the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) in basketball training, particularly in free-throw shooting. It focuses on the development of a VR program designed to improve player performance in basketball free throws. It highlights how immersive technologies like VR, AR, and MR are changing traditional sports training by offering digital environments for athletes to practice, and the challenges of this technology. Using Unity, the project was developed to simulate accurate shooting mechanics with a visual guidance system. Challenges that had to be overcome and future improvements that can be made to the project are also discussed. Overall, the thesis demonstrates how VR can support skill development and cognitive training in basketball.
