Biofuels produced and utilized all over the world in order to respond energy security, decrease greenhouse gas emission from transport and develop agriculture. Main challenge of first generation biofuels production is it`s competition with food and feed sector. Growth of biofuels production is accompanied with growth of feedstock price, which consequently may lead to food security questions in global scale. This thesis work will evaluate economic competitiveness of feedstock as a source of biofuel specifically analyzing feedstock supply and per capita consumption elasticities on example of the USA between 2009 and 2019. Main econometric tool used for analysis is ordinary least squares (OLS) regression model.hu_HU
