dc.description.abstractThe focus of this project is on the reaction kinetics of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) with primary alcohols in the presence of a catalyst. The results of the data were used to plot the graph of the measured values and calculated values of the products of the reactions against the reaction time. This plot was used to determine the rate of the reactions k1 and k2 of each measurement. It turned out that the results of the rate of the reactions showed that the k1 values are higher than the k2 values in the reactions and the ratio k1/k2 was between 1.1-1.3. Therefore, it was determined that the reaction of the first isocyanate group is about 1.1-1.3 times faster than the second isocyanate group.hu_HU
