This thesis provides an overview of health, medicine, and medical education in the Ottoman Empire. It explores the practices of medicine during different periods, emphasizing medical education and significant educational institutions. The study also examines the Institution of Chief Physician's role in the empire's medical history and highlights notable medical books from that time. Additionally, it explores healthcare providers' roles and services offered to society, including the popularity of folk medicine due to limited access to traditional healthcare. Finally, the thesis discusses modern medicine in Turkey and notable Turkish doctors.
