The pathogenesis of many diseases, such as IBD, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and obesity, seem to link the diseases to an altered gut microbiome. Recent research point towards clinical remission after receving fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from a healthy donor, providing more evidence for dysbiosis being a prominent cause, and FMT becoming a form of therapy in refractory cases.
