This thesis encompasses the process of building a Java web scraping application heavily targeted towards users regardless of technology level. The application provides a platform for users and gives them the ability to create accounts, log in, and use the seamless application command line to extract data from websites. Users can register on the web app and quickly gets the data they need in a structured format. This app can be used to look for changes in prices and availability in web shops, and other interesting applications e.g., news updates from web pages, job applications and openings, etc. This thesis project can be material for users who regularly need specific or targeted information from the internet, or for readers who want to learn and understand the fundamental parts of building a Java-based web scraping application.
