Absztrakt

Chronic hepatitis C is a long-lasting infection caused by hepatitis C virus. The initial treatment for HCV began with the use of interferon-alpha, which was later combined with Ribavirin to improve its effectiveness. This combination became the standard therapy for managing HCV. Today, HCV treatment is based on direct-acting antiviral agents. These medications specifically target the nonstructural regions of the HCV genome. DAAs are formulated using combinations of drugs that work together to produce a synergistic effect.
