Religion as a Symbol of Transgression in the Emergence of Black Voices of the Harlem Renaissance
Absztrakt
The thesis is about the Harlem Renaissance, and it introduces some of the poets and poems of the era. It demonstrates that religion is a symbol of the poets’ struggle with boundaries as they are starting to experience the freedom to create art in their own voice and to create their own tradition while still being bound by their Judeo-Christian heritage.
