dc.description.abstractThis thesis explores the emotional and mental state of the protagonist, Jane Eyre, in Charlotte Brontë's novel Jane Eyre. The thesis examines the aesthetics of the visual description of the landscapes and atmospheric conditions and how these are portrayed in association with Jane's condition. This thesis investigates the significance of nature in the novel. Weather and seasonal changes play an important role in the unfolding of the story, as they suggest oncoming change and development in the narrator's journey. All in all, the main focus of the thesis is the description of landscapes with their weather imagery to indicate the condition of Jane.
