Culture as a determinant of maternal mortality in Indonesia: a literature review
Absztrakt
Despite the advancement made in SDG, the number of maternal mortality is still high, including in Indonesia. The programs that had been implemented might be not culturally sensitive. Culture is one of the determinants of maternal death because it influences the mother´s behaviours. This study aimed to explore and describe culture as a determinant of maternal death in Indonesia. The result showed four themes that emerged from the found literature, which are consumption, daily activities, perinatal care and rituals, and social status.
