Imaging and Laboratory Approach to Thyroid Diseases
Absztrakt
Thyroid function tests need for estimating functional activity of thyroid gland and autoantibodies support for diagnosis of thyroid dysfunction. FNA and molecular testing are used as confirmation examination for thyroid malignancy. Ultrasound image is the most sensitive and cost-effective method to evaluate thyroid nodules and diffuse lesions. Nuclear imaging can also show functional activity of the gland and nodules. MRI is good to investigate soft tissues. CT examination is an alternative way to assess anatomical structure of thyroid gland and surrounding tissues.
