Zinc is an important micronutrient that is needed at every stage of life since it is important for immune system function, growth, and tissue repair, among other biological activities. Different age groups require different amounts of zinc due to different physiological requirements. Every age group has different needs, including newborns, children, adolescents, adults, older adults, pregnant women, and mothers who breastfeeding. These needs are influenced by growth, development, and demands specific to each stage of life. The many health advantages of getting enough zinc have been discussed in this thesis, including enhanced immunological response, growth and development, cognitive function, wound healing, and more. When zinc supplementation is in line with age-specific requirements, these advantages are specifically noticeable.
