Women and men use their language differently. This can be traced back to their childhood, and the gender-specific patterns children acquire then will be reinforced during their adult life, by the expectations and influences of society.In the first part of my thesis I examine three factors that are likely to influence the development of gender-differential language use.In the second part I demonstrate how men and women differ in their communication styles.
