This systemic review and meta-analysis was conducted to emanate the pooled effect of family history on T2DM in African (AFRO) and the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) countries.95% confidence interval (CI) and odds ratio (OR) was used to assess the association between family history and T2DM with random assumption.Stata 14 version is used for meta-analysis.The quality of the studies was evaluated using the Joanna Briggs Institute Meta-Analysis of Statistical Assessment and Review Instrument (JBI-MAStARI).Subgroup analysis was conducted to assess the heterogeneity among the studies.The Presence of publication bias was described using funnel plot.The pooled effect size revealed positive family history was a risk factor for T2DM in both AFRO and EMRO regions.
