In my thesis, I analyse the main causes of the Arab Spring, from the rule and modernisation attempts of Muhammad Ali to the military takeover of Nasser and his faction which deposed the last heir of Muhammad Ali. I will examine issue other than political: in my view the building of the Suez Canal as an economic enterprise, and the constitution of 1923 as the collection of independent and national laws are also very important elements of the complex issue.
