| dc.description.abstract | The field of hematology, with its intricate analysis of blood and blood-related disorders, demands rigorous quality control and assurance to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. This thesis delves into the multifaceted realm of quality assurance in laboratory testing across the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases. Recognizing the prevalence of errors, particularly in the pre-analytical phase, underscores the critical significance of stringent quality control measures. Through meticulous examination of potential challenges and errors, this study emphasizes the paramount importance of maintaining accuracy and reliability in results interpretation. Analyzing platelet, leukocyte, and erythrocyte parameters reveals key areas vulnerable to errors, highlighting the necessity for continuous improvement initiatives. Quality control measures, including instrument calibration, routine checks with control samples, and statistical analysis, are pivotal in upholding accuracy and reliability standards. Moreover, adherence to established standards such as ISO 15189 and active participation in proficiency testing programs are emphasized to maintain the highest quality standards. Internal quality control strategies, utilization of quality control charts, and engagement in external quality assurance programs emerge as indispensable mechanisms for monitoring and improving laboratory performance. | |
