dc.description.abstractComparative analysis of corticosteroids and biologics in inflammatory arthritis highlights differences in mechanism, efficacy, and safety profiles. Corticosteroids provide rapid symptom relief by broadly suppressing inflammation but are associated with significant long-term side effects. Biologic agents target specific immune pathways, offering improved disease control and reduced structural joint damage. However, biologics are more expensive and carry risks such as infection and immunogenicity. Overall, treatment choice depends on disease severity, patient characteristics, and the balance between short-term benefits and long-term risks.
