dc.description.abstractThe aim of this thesis is to investigate English idioms from three various aspects. It attempts to examine the different definitions, to highlight their common features, and based on these characteristics, to find the most important criteria for identifying idioms. In addition, it discusses what kinds ofvariations idioms may have; and it also investigates three different idiom dictionaries, what their peculiarities are and how they list their idioms.hu_HU
