Previous studies have shown that certain hemorheological parameters may show arterio-venous differences, and portal venous blood samples may also differ microrheologically. Our study highlights the importance of appropriate preoperative evaluation, perioperative and surgical competence as well as postoperative care in preventing adverse changes in inflammatory and hence, hemorheological parameters.RBC volume, deformability and aggregation values showed systemic arteriovenous and porto-renal venous differences, and after intestinal anastomosis operation a microrheological deterioration can be seen, especially in the portal venous system.
