Literary Adaptations and Viewers' Expectations: A Comparative Analysis of Three Stephen King Novels
Absztrakt
For the topic I was examining, I used Stephen King’s novels and their film adaptations as primary sources. My study was based on the research question of what readers expect from a film adaptation. In my research, I attempted to reveal how well the film adaptations of Stephen King's novels met the "reader's expectations". As a premise, I stated that the original work (novel) always provides the reader with a more cathartic experience than the film adaptation made from it. Overall, I have come to the conclusion regarding the confirmation of my premise [the original work (novel) always provides the reader with a more cathartic experience than the film adaptation made from it], that it largely depends on the reader's expectations.
