In the following chapter I will turn to the analysis of gender as a social category. We will see why it is argued that men and women use language differently, and what the early investigations concluded about this interesting question. I will make an attempt to reveal the possible causes of this distinct linguistic behavior, and women’s more extensive use of standard forms. The different strategies used by men and women will also be studied along with how it is manifested in interactions. (Introduction)
