Epigenetic regulations result in variations in gene expression that do not modify the DNA sequence directly but rather impact gene expression through covalent modification of DNA or other associated proteins involved. Multiple disease conditions are related to epigenetic changes and due to this it is critical to better understand this phenomenon in order to develop novel therapeutic measures in all the related fields of interest. The actions of HATs and HDACs are the center of studies in regard to epigenetic modulations. Cancer progression is driven by the incremental buildup of genetic mutations as well as the dysfunction of the epigenetic modulatory mechanisms and these factors along with others contribute to the development of malignancy. Investigating the detailed mechanism of epigenetic regulation in cancer initiation and progression will help us better comprehend the pathogenesis of cancer and also allows us to discover more efficient therapeutic targets and medications for cancer treatment.hu_HU
