There are many different means of delivery of an irrigant solution inside the root canal system; both manual and machine assisted techniques exist. In this report we will mention briefly about the manual irrigation and focus mostly on the machine assisted irrigation techniques, especially those that are more widely used and have been researched more. The objective of this review is to present an overview of the different types of machine assisted irrigation agitation techniques that are currently available and compare and evaluate their debridement efficacy.
