dc.description.abstractMy thesis explores the formation of Australian identity and the historical events that influenced it, such as colonialism, gambling, and personal experiences. The difficulties faced by the main characters, over their decisions. The sense of guilt over the mistreatment of Aboriginals which caused them moral conflicts. Their search for a sense of belonging coupled with misunderstandings changes the course of their existence. In general, this thesis examines how the main characters created a new image while defying social norms.
