dc.description.abstractHalf-sandwich complexes of platinum-group metals such as Ru(II), Os(II), Ir(III), and Rh(III) are widely studied organometallic compounds for their biological activities. They show promising anticancer potential as alternatives to classic platinum drugs (platins), that face resistance and selectivity issues. These complexes also exhibit antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties. The thesis describes a novel diverse library of half-sandwich platinum-group metal complexes incorporating 1,2,3-triazole glycoconjugates, and the results of their biological studies.
