In my thesis, I will attempt to examine how Moore and Gibbons experiment with the technical tools (the “language”) of comics in Watchmen. I will introduce the basic concepts using Scott McCloud‟s Understanding Comics, and will highlight how various visual and textual devices are used in Watchmen to explore and extend the vocabulary of the medium.
