The essential aim of this master’s thesis is to analyze one of the important issues of European Union Law—Cookie Policy—and the requirements for the use of cookies, which has become one of the significant directions of law nowadays. Over the last few years, website development has reached its greatest achievement by creating user-friendly platforms. However, new technological growth has created new challenges in protecting the personal data of users. “HTTP Cookies” or simply “Cookies”, which are based on the consumer’s consent, represent an inevitable tool for web owners in controlling users’ online behavior. Specifically, users who are giving their memories to the web might pose a threat to their privacy. Respectively, to maximize personal data protection, cookies that are essential to the digital world but vulnerable to privacy must be strictly controlled. In this regard, the thesis intends to demonstrate the legal framework of European Cookie Law, specifically, the Electronic Communications and Privacy Directive, the General Data Protection Regulation, the E-Privacy Regulation, and the European Court of Justice’s judicial practice.hu_HU
