gastroesophegeal reflux disease is a common and chronic gastrointestinal disease that causes the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus due to dysfunction of the sphincter. This paper covers the pathophysiology, clinical signs and symptoms, and diagnostic procedures. The treatments which is the focus of this thesis, include lifestyle modifications, pharmacological therapies, and surgeries. Emphasis is placed on individualized treatment approaches to optimize outcomes and enhance patient quality of life.
