This thesis examines the role of personalized pharmacotherapy in the management of Parkinson’s disease. It reviews the pathophysiology of the disease, current pharmacological treatments, and the mechanisms, benefits, and limitations of major drug classes used in clinical practice. Particular attention is given to genetic factors, including mutations and pharmacogenomic variability, that may influence disease characteristics and treatment response. The thesis also explores how clinical factors such as age, disease stage, symptom profile, and comorbidities contribute to individualized treatment strategies. Finally, it discusses the potential of precision medicine approaches to improve therapeutic outcomes and reduce treatment-related complications. Overall, the thesis highlights the importance of integrating genetic and clinical information to achieve more effective and patient-centered care in Parkinson’s disease.
