dc.description.abstractUsing the internet in general and social media platforms in particular have been growing exponentially in the last few years due to the rise in internet access, the ease of communication and the existence of affordable smartphones. The main objective was to explore the use of social media among university students in an attempt to identify how it may affect the quality of healthcare. A total of 117 questionnaires were collected from the students of the Faculty of Public Health. The results of this study indicate that the majority of students irrespective of their nationality, are in agreement with the utility of social media platforms in the healthcare services. Finally, social media platforms can be a valuable source of information or a critical source of misinformation. It has a future in healthcare, but there are many challenges to overcome before these platforms can achieve its potential.hu_HU
