I examine the different appearances of ‘leaving home’ in women’s lives, where leaving home means not only a home, or a family, but any bonding where she feels comfortable and which affects a woman’s past, present or future. Secondly, I show some examples of mothering as a failure, where women for some reason cannot fit perfectly the role of a mother. I write about their problems, their failures, and the expedient which they find in order to get out of their outstanding situation.
