Testosterone has a large role in a multitude of physiological and developmental processes within the bodies of animals. Birds are one such group of animals particularly coveted for research but the administration of hormones to a bird has predominantly used methods requiring surgical implantation and/or removal to supply a hormone to the body during an experimental period. With various problems that can arise with these methods, the need for an improved hormone delivery is desired. One such improved method is the use of polymer microspheres which have provided the opportunity to administer exogenous hormones to birds without the risks associated with the other methods. In our experiment, we tested the capabilities of these microspheres with testosterone in Japanese quail while also observing other morphological and behavioural aspects related to elevated hormone levels.hu_HU
