Class I antiarrhythmic agents: Dental implications
Absztrakt
This thesis discusses the pharmacology of antiarrhythmic drugs class I focusing on their chemical structure, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, clinical use, side effects and drug to drug interactions. It emphasizes that class IA and class IB drugs are able to induce serious dental implications including antimuscarinic actions with consequent Xerostomia and increased caries frequency, gingival overgrowth and alpha adrenergic receptor blocking effect.
