dc.description.abstractThis paper investigates the preferences of Hungarian university students regarding the contrast between British and American English. The data were collected in short discussions with each student individually; none of them were informed about the topic of the research. The results indicate that while the distribution of students and their preferred variety is mixed, most of the students believe that the relevance of these differences will become less important in the near future.
