This thesis examines dehumidification-based AWG systems as new supplementary water sources for agriculture in arid regions. it investigates various dehumidification systems used in greenhouses. Using a custom framework, by assessing the systems based on their water yield, energy use, and cost efficiency, estimating these systems thermodynamically and climatologically to determine the possibility of meeting the water demand by using such systems, and out of the examined dehumidification systems, the most promising system was the solar-based dehumidifier, as it reduces reliance on grid electricity and offers better long-term sustainability. Overall, i concluded that AWG technology has the potential to make agriculture more resilient, but efficiency, cost, and integration with renewables need to be improved for this potential to be realized.
