In this essay, I shall be concerned with Dostoyevsky’s peculiar treatment of dreams in this novel. I shall attempt to analyse and interpret the dreams of Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, the book’s protagonist, in the light of his actions and the state of his consciousness.
